chikagalore

And this, my dear friends, is a venue where any CHIKA is greatly appreciated and welcomed. With each and everyone's participation, we'll have a GALORE of things to think and hear about. Hence, the name "chikagalore" is now coined... (p.s. i know this is a lame excuse for the crappy title, but hey, all the good ones are taken and it's easy to remember right?! hehehe)

Kuala Lumpur

here's the continuation of our vacation last weekend, on saturday 1230pm, we went down from genting to kuala lumpur (KL) malaysia. the weather here is so hot, such a contrast from genting's freezing one. first stop is check in to our hotel. after that we grabbed a light snack at the Berjaya Times Square mall behind our hotel. it's a big mall with a themepark inside. (see left pic)

after that we started our itinerary with a trip to Menara KL Tower, it's the 4th tallest telecommunications tower in the world. there's an observation deck at 200m high where you can see the whole city of KL. (see right)

afterwards, we went on to the most popular site in KL which is the Petronas Twin Towers. below the towers is the Suria KLCC mall which houses most of the designer brands gucci, prada, lv, versace, etc..

since it's drizzling, we decided to just stay in the mall. i did some shopping at the isetan dept store (coz it's cheaper here than singapore :P), ate dinner at california pizza kitchen, took lots of pictures til around 10pm before going back to the hotel.

next day, we just went around the city for more "touristy" spots like the merdeka square (independence square), chinatown (full of fake goods), & rode the local mrt just for fun. :)

Genting Highlands

hello peeps! finally our vacation pushed thru last fri-sun. we went to malaysia - genting and kuala lumpur (KL). on friday, we took a bus (7 hrs!!!) from singapore to genting highlands. we left around 7am and arrived 2:30pm!

genting is situated 2000m above sea level so it's really cold there, almost 10-15 degrees C! we stayed at first world hotel in genting which has a themepark & mall below.

<= mini eiffel towel inside first world plaza themepark. :)

there's also an outdoor themepark but we're only able to ride the flying coaster coz after that the weather became too foggy and they closed all the rides. :(

genting is also popular for their casino and cable car. since there's no casino in singapore, most of the people go there if they want to play. i think it's also the only casino in malaysia. :P the cable car is one of the longest in asia. roundtrip ride took us 30 mins!!! :O

hi

hi guys! i hope everybody's doing great! i have bad news and good news! bad news, nov 7 around 9:45pm, was driving home when somebody hit me and ran away. i mean my car got hit by another car, and the guy just sped away. aside from scratcha and cut on my bumper and i think the engine shifting a little bit to the left, i am ok. im just having so much stress talking to the insurance company. the good thing is that i have two witnesses who told the cops that it wasn;t my fault - one who was driving on my left side, and the other behind me. hopefully my insurance premiums wont go up after i make a claim, which i am doing because the repair will cost me thousand dollars. talk about bad luck huh?
anyway, i watched james blunt concert with friends last sat (nov11). he was really good, he played songs from his old and new album. the encore was of course, 'you're beautiful', but his performance was so-so. its almost the same as listening to his cd, unlike other acts who will put variation to how they sing the song - either put more zest or stuff like that. the best part was when he sand goodbye my lover, where the spotlight was on him and he was on the piano. you can really sense the emotions in his voice. the last part of the song he did without any music, which was kinda dramatic but effective nevertheless.
have you guys seen "borat"? borat is so mean, but funny in his ways. although im pretty sure some people wont appreciate his humor. "happy feet" was a good movie too.
thanksgiving ill be in LA with some of my friends, which means i wont line up for the once-a-year-biggest-sale event at almost all stores..oh well, i dont think i have money to spend, just save it for the plane tickets, which will cost me $1700 arggg! oh well, i really want to be home so thats fine...i was checking at cebu pacific website, and they have P999 trip to malaysia, cheaper than that of boracay's...which reminds me my dear friends. im 95% sure im going home this christmas! let's hang out! i was just wondering if you guys feel like going out of town? holler if you have ideas =)
p.s. karen, when will you be in P.I.? marie, what days will you be off for the holidays? cats, how's the cruise? kwento nman =)

happy halloween peeps!

i know im a bit late haha sorry been busy! nway, like last year, we dressed up at work and went to castro street in frisco afterwards. This year i wanted to be a pirate, but i figured it's the number 1 costume sold across US. So i though i'd rather pick something else, that is, a goddess.

so anyway, it was more exciting this year because more people in our workplace dressed-up. We got to castro around 8:30pm (fyi, castro street known as the "gay district" in san francisco). We had dinner at the same resto we ate at last year until 9:30pm. This means we have only 1 hour to roam around castro, because we heard they're going to shut it down at 10:30pm(b/c it was a weekday).

a lot of people showed up, but i think it wasn't as creative as last year with a few exceptions of the following: poison-ivy girl(red hair, grasses neatly made into a costume, and some popping out of her boots, green tights), fifth element girl(who looked like milla jovovich and she wore literally strips of white cloth), and transformer guy. anyway, they put up barricades on the street that made the pathway much narrower, ergo, much more crowded. it was hard to go from one place to another; you take baby steps and it's literally skin-to-skin. unfortunately, someone grabbed my butt, i didn't knew who it was. we were walking, and suddenly i felt a hand quickly squeezing my left butt. i was shocked but what can i do right? and im considered fortunate, our friend steph got fingered in her cuchie..if you know what i mean. well, it was really crowded that she got separated from us. when she finally found her, she was crying. so we just stood there for a while to calm her down.

at that time, two guys knelt down and said to me, "hail, hail!" Staying in character, i told them i'll blessed them with good tidings, etc, etc. then one of them asked if he can kiss my foot. and i thought, well, he's just going to kiss it, so i said "sure". To my surprise, however, not only did he kissed my foot, but he started sucking them and like "french-kissing" my foot. i could feel his tongue caressing my toes, which was totally icky because it's not totally clean (might have picked up dust along the way). I immediately told him "stop" and also gestured for him to stop. his friend told me dont be afraid he's a foot sucker. Then, he hugged me and they left. me and my friend were laughing. well in this case, i figured, i'll just laugh it off than be sad and mad about it.

the next morning, i found out people got shot. we were lucky because we were on 16th & market street, and the shootings happened on 22nd & market street. we were few blocks away. the good thing was we left early too, the shooting happened after we left...
